            The new business platform
Photo and video sharing on social media and social networking sites has evolved from sharing information and updating friend’s status into a whole new professional level – business. People in all demographics and regions of the world are more connected than ever before to the products, issues, places, and individuals in their lives, social media has allowed them to “represent their real identity--both personal and professional--and use the social filters on the Web to connect with the world around them” (Chung, 2009).
People are operating shops without having to pay any rents! This is a whole new different era, believe it or not – it has become one of the latest and popular trends among us. People selling clothes, apparels, accessories, food and beverages, domestic household stuffs… and the list goes on … through sharing the photos of their merchandise on the internet. Some may even have customer review recorded and upload the video to convince and attract more customers. Even the large established incorporation such as McDonald’s and Manhattan Fish Market are relying on social media to update their promotions and new menu.

According to Goldfarb (2010), there are a shocking amount of potential customers that now turn into social media for information about companies and products. The “2010 Social Media Report” from Foresee Results has revealed that 69% of the online shoppers regularly uses social media websites such as Facebook. In facebook, there is Fan page, personal profile, private or open groups, event invitations – all these that can be fully utilized into a great marketing and promotion tools. And it’s free!
Of course, the advantages of these social media does not limits on expanding business opporturnity – it encourages fame and popularity as well! Well, we’ll leave that for other authors to blog on. As for now, when you do want to initiate your own business – don’t forget the power of social media. Low risk, high return. Lelong Lelong~

I did that. I have always read reviews from blogs because i have sensitive skin. Rather than destroying my own skin from trying out each and every product out there, i rather search for people who have experimented using such products. With this, not only does my skin can avoid all hardship, my purse won't cry for wasting money buying things that can only be used less than a week.

well, online shopping is indeed great. But there was once i almost cheated by a lomography camera seller, reviews, good comments and popularity were there but i suspected that it was created on purpose. Low risk , high return for the seller but high risk for the shopper!

I have to say that I agree with both of you. Well, it is always the best when all you have to do is just move your fingers to have your goods delivered right at your door steps. But then, there is always risk to consider as well.. hmm.. be more careful when shop online i guess?

Ya, we cannot deny the influential power of social media. It bring a lot benefits to if it is used properly. Advertisers can save a lot and other foreign consumers can also know their products or services compare only advertise at local television channel or print media which involve a number of advertisement fees. At the same time, viewers are able to give comment on the product. It means that online customers can ask more information about that product or service if they have interesting buy it. In other words, social media involve two ways of communication. Not only Facebook, photo sharing websites like Picasa also provide free service to allow any advertiser or seller promote their products.
We can upload a lot of photo to photo sharing sites as much as we want. It provides a large and unlimited storage for users to save their photo. Our photo album also more secure once we have post it online as we can make these photo album private or public or only can be viewed by certain people.
